NES

The Original Nintendo Entertainment System

Most of your old nintendo games are sitting around gathering dust but these can still be a blast.
Super Dodge Ball
Wow I love this game! Hit everybody on the other team with the volley ball until they die! Each character has their own 'super throws'. One is accomplished by leaping into the air and throwing the volley ball downward, the other is by running and throwing it straight on. The super throws cause the volleyball to flash and turn pink(and often strange shapes) and cause a ton of damage. Of the first kind there are several. The best are the:
compressor
This move causes the volley ball to shrink down to the size of a tennis ball and cause extreme damage. You'll definately run into this in the one player mode when you challenge Japan. Beware of Fuji his mission in life(apparently) is to continually bombard you with compressor balls.
The sideways slice
Sam of the american team has this one. It causes the volley ball to flatten at a 45 degree angle. This the and the compressor are the most useful.
The Slow-Mo
This one goes really really slow and is hard to catch but just back away and let it fall. Not very useful beacuse of this.
The splitter
The volley ball splits into about four baseball sized balls.
High wave
This one is just like the regular waves.
Well there are several others but I can't remember them right now.

Maniac Mansion
Mansion Title
I guess this was originally a computer game but it was converted for the NES. It's really fun. No fast button pushing but blowing up the hamster in the microwave can be fun. I know of several ways to beat this game but I can never get any of them to work. If anyone happens to have first hand knowledge Let me Know!

The Legend of Zelda

The first two games of this great series were for the NES. The first one requires some thought bu the charcters are very cartoon-ish. The Adventure of Link is my favorite of the two. I still haven't beaten it although I've gotten really close unfortunately somebody erased my game so I had to start over. The one for the SNES was great and I can't wait for ZELDA 64 to come out but they keep pushing the release date back.
Duck hunt
As far as I know no other shooting game can rival this one(at least for the old nintendo). It can give you a headache but It's a good way to practice your shooting.
Spy Vs. Spy
This is another good game to play with a friend. For being such an early game it can be extremely fun.
