Steel Pokemon

• Pineco
  bred moves: Reflect Pin Missile flail swift (Note that pineco is actually just bug type)

• Forretress
  Fairly decent attack with very high defense NO special defense or special attack. Being bug steel makes it double weak to fire. Notable if only for Tacks which is a great move to use with a shuffler. All pokemon other than flying types take 1/8 of their HP when they switch in unless they are flying types. Forretress learns Tacks at level 49.

• Steelix
  The evolved form of onix. It's steel ground and therefore has fewer weaknesses than Onix and has slightly better stats. Still has relatively low defense however. Not too bad with curse. Don't bother with crunch because it is a dark move which is special based and steelix has very low special attack.

• Scizor
  The evolved form of Scizor. Excellent attack which is in the top ten in the game. However most people seem to want to use it with baton passer, which can be bred to scyther. Can also get swords dance and agility which are great to pass on but not too bad to use with scizor itself. Has high defense but is considerably slower than scyther. Also has fairly good special defense. Remember that it's double weak to fire due to being bug/steel. Here's the standard Baton passer:
  1. Baton Pass
  2. Swords Dance
  3. Agility
  4. Frustration

• Skarmory
  Long considered a less useful steel it has the distinction of being one of the few pokemon to be able to survive against a Marowak with thick club attached. Good attack, excellent defense, reasonable speed and special defense. Can be bred:Drill Peck, Pursuit and whirlwind. Sky attack in Crystal.
