I've finally completed this game and it only took me forty hours to do it. This game is fantastic and definitely not a clone of Mario 64 much more refined, with much more depth and a lot harder in many ways.(Is it just me or does Rare consistently make really difficult games) Anyway if you are getting codes from different websites they won't do you any good unless you've talked to whomever(in the game) gives them to you in which case you'd already know them anyway. If you haven't already found out about the mini-game concealed in Bottles' picture in Banjo's house go and take a look at it. The puzzle game can be quite fun.
Ah yes Banjo-Kazooie hints. Well first whenever you get turn into anything be sure to exit the world and wander about because you are sure to find some secrets. . .
Rare has put in some sort of cheat code that can be spelled out after spelling cheat. I tried the process of elimination but it makes no sound so you don't have a clue if you're on the right track. Someday the rest of us will know but I wasn't one of the lucky few sniff
Also there is a way to get out of paying for Mumbos help(I didn't discover this myself I read about it somewhere but I can't remember where).
Anyway you'll have to complete all of the puzzle games and then you can turn into a washing machine and mumbo won't charge you any tokens for magic Wohoo!
The washingmachine functions exactly like normal except you can walk through places you normally couldn't Hot sand etc.
It's really fun to start flying. Something about a flying washing machine is really funny. . .
Turok Dinosaur hunter
Yes I finally got around to getting this game and well although it's really fun to keep shooting the guys you've already killed to make it sound like mass murder, this thing has virtually no replay value in my opinion. Sure it ws pretty cool while you were playing but going back through for fun- no thanks. Trade in time.Yoshi's story
This is a preliminary review as I have not have time to explore all of the games secrets but I have beaten it once.
More cuteness than you can imagine! Gameplay is excellent and very fun although flying creatures on some of the boards can be annoying. Graphics are eye-popping. I love this game! It's just so . . well, CUTE!
HINTS This game has lots of secrets like hidden fruits the white shyguy and black and white yoshis. The other Yoshis are well worth getting. Their eggs explode with a real bang and they aren't so picky about what they eat. So Far I've only managed to get black yoshi and here's how it's done:
- How to get Black Yoshi
- I now believe that black yoshi can be found in any of the world three boards. I also found him in 2-1. Actually 2-1 is a much easier place to get him. Wander around the caves fro a while and you'll get to a spot with lots of turbo
tulips and platforms up above. Off to the left in this cavern will be a turbo tulip that is directly below a ledge. It will have a red question mark in a bubble. Shoot yourself up there and break the bubble.Break it open an a large white and black spotted egg will come out. If you get thirty fruits without losing the egg, by losing the yoshi, black yoshi will be on the select screen. Black Yoshi can also be found in board 2-4 Torrential Maze. You have to go all the way to the top of the maze and ride on some vines- Pitfall style. You'll enter into a little ledged area and then be faced with a question mark in a bubble. To get to Torential maze, though, you have to find all of the special hearts in one of the boards on the first page. I found this surprisingly difficult. I could find two but not the third. The easiest place is the tall tower. All three hearts are easy to find. You must also be missing one of your regular yoshis for black yoshi to appear. Once you get him he'll be on the select screen until you lose him, but the white shuy guy can bring him back.
- How to get White Yoshi
- Well i finally got white yoshi and it wasn't particularly easy. I found him on "Poochy and Nippy" on page five "Summit" I can't remember what the
number was. If you've played the board you've probably noticed that at the end of each section there will be two pipes. One that poochy stands and barks by and the other one. At the first opportunity go in the "wrong" pipe you'll run in to black shuy guy so watch out! then go in the topmost pipe at the end of that page. You should come out at a spot where poochy is at the bottom of the screen barking at a red pipe but you can't get to him. Keep going in the board until you get to a red pipe and go down it. White yoshi is in the cavern that it takes you to. REMEMBER you have to be missing a yoshi for him to appear. He'll be in a large white egg.
Other Tips
There are lots of mini-games in Yoshi's story and most of the revolve around getting melons. The one where you run with the boxes of melons requires that you run backward for a few paces first and then take off!
More tips as I figure them out :)
Diddy Kong Racing
This is another good one from Rare.
It looks like a sequel to Mariokart64, but the driving is radically different.
At first I really missed MK64's mini-turbo. On top of great gameplay, it's got all kinds of secrets. Two secret characters and a whole extra world. The character's voices can get annoying (especially Pipsy) but after a while you learn to ignore them. Here's some tips and secrets:- Before you hit a zipper let off of your accelerator and stay off of it until the smoke goes away almost completely. This works especially well for the plane and the car. I'm not sure it works very well for the hovercraft.
- For you Pipsy fans, Pipsy just doesn't cut it against Wizpig. I recommend Banjo or Bumper.
- To get drumstick you must beat all of the tracks and the silver coin challenges; get all four trophies and then in the central area there will be a loud clucking and you'll notice this frog with some red feathers sticking out of it's head. Run over it and drumstick will pop out.
- There's been a lot of confusion on how to get to future funland. So here's how it's done:You need to beat everthing except for the TT challenges and TT in the courses. That includes Wizpig. Then drive up to the board on the beach with all of your gold trophies on it. Drive your character into it as if you were going to look at it. The game will go into a little sequence which shows the lighthouse turning into a spaceship. After thet you will find yourself in the lobby of future funland.
- Can't kind the last TT key? Did you know that the bell in boulder canyon raises the drawbridge? If you didn't this is a good place to look.
Killer Instinct Gold
This really rules! A great sequel to the original for the SNES It's probably worth the 70+ dollars most places are charging. Maybe you don't think so, but good luck finding a used one!
Here is the beginning of my KI page.
Mario Kart 64
This is probably one of the best party games in existence. A great re-make of the SNES Mario Kart. The secret to winning is often the use of mini turbo. Whe you hit a curve hold down the R button and flick the control stick back and forth until the smoke from your engine turns red then let go for a nice speed boost. One really fun thing to do is playing as Toad and driving in the extra version of Toad's Turnpike. Head on traffic! Listening to Toad's(as well as your own) screams as he hits the cars is really fun.Mario 64
Enough 3-D to make your head hurt. This is really fun but can get extremely frustrating with some of the harder to get stars. Swinging Bowser around in cricles and crashing him into a bomb can give endless joy. Definately good for younger players, and older ones as well. I still haven't gotten all 120 stars. That's mostly because I haven't really bothered to try very hard as the last few are extremely annoying to get.
