Here is another group of under-appreciated pokemon. But beware there are some really sneaky ones in this group. Look for the descriptions of grass poison
pokemon under the grass heading.
so here they are:
Pure Poison Pokemon
ekans
Can be Bred:Pursuit, Slam, Spite, Beat Up
Arbok
Arbok is a little used pokemon but it has several good credits to it. One is glare it's one of the
most accurate paralysis moves that can affect ground pokemon. It's fairly fast so it can use the move
more effectively than the stun spore wielding but slow grass pokemon. It's attack isn't so great but screech
can help you take care of business. It can also learn rock slide and earthquake and so can make
a surprising 'fake' ground rock pokemon. It can also learn haze but it's stats are fairly low so it's survivability is minimal.
Nidoran-female
Can be Bred:Supersonic, Disable, Take Down, Focus Energy, Charm, Counter, Beat Up
Nidorina
Nidoran-Male
Can be Bred:Supersonic, Disable, Take Down, Confusion, Amnesia, Counter, Beat Up
Nidorino
Grimer
Can be Bred:Haze, Mean Look, Pursuit, Lick
Muk
Muk can be a real killer if used properly. Sludge Bomb is a High powered STAB attack and REALLY HURTS anything with low defense.
It's special defense also got a nice boost in G/S and it's now the same as Dragonite's. An awesome hazer and one of my G/S Team members.
Koffing
Can be Bred:Screech, Psywave, Psybeam, Destiny Bond, Pain Split
Weezing
Weezing is similar to muk with better defense speed and special.
Weezing is also relatively good and has enough special to warrant using flamethrower or fire blast for steels.
Poison + pokemon
Nidoqueen
The nidos can learn a wide variety of moves and can be good hole punchers. However with the addition
of the ground type in the final stage use care in using them as they have weaknesses to lots of pokemon.
Nidoqueen has better special than nidoking and so is better suited to using special based moves such as water attacks.
Nidoqueen is fairly slow so be careful when fighting speedsters.
Nidoking
Nidoking has higher defense and is somewhat faster than nidoqueen but it pays the price in special defense.
weedle
kakuna
beedrill
Zubat
Golbat
A very unloved pokemon but it does learn a bug attack which is fairly rare in the game and it learns haze
also a rare move. Together(haze and leech life) golbat can be a real killer especially if you run into a similar
strategy as gremio's muk mentioned above. However it's stats are fairly mediocre other than having good speed
so unless you really need one it's not a top choice.
Venonat
Venomoth
It's another of the bug/poison pokemon but this one has high speed and special. It also learns psychic
and psybeam on it's own. An underused pokemon it would be a good psychic substitute. It also learns 'those lovely powders'
and so can be a threat that way as well. It does have really bad defense but so do many psychics.
